Signalised intersection control in a connected vehicle environment: User throughput maximisation strategy

چکیده

Connected vehicle (CV) technology is expected to bring additional opportunities share, collect, and exploit various information on vehicles their occupants. Assuming that CVs are able transmit on-board users data, a user-based signal timing optimisation (UBSTO) strategy proposed, designed optimise user throughput for signalised intersections. In the CV environment, inputs of proposed algorithm consist position speed CVs, as well number passengers travelling in each vehicle, while output optimum green time duration phase. addition, authors' adapt cycle length traffic volume condition. case missing same can also operate vehicle-based mode, where objective vehicle-throughput maximization. The performance compared with fully actuated controller (FAC) microscopic simulation, several scenarios, including different penetration rates. Authors' findings show UBSTO effectively increase decrease average delay comparison FAC, prioritising higher on-board. These have implications further development prioritization strategies public transport ride-sharing vehicles.

An Intelligent Control Strategy in a Parallel Hybrid Vehicle

This paper presents a design procedure for an adaptive power management control strategy based on a driving cycle recognition algorithm. The design goal of the control strategy is to minimize fuel consumption and engine-out NOx, HC and CO emissions on a set of diversified driving schedules. Seven facility-specific drive cycles are considered to represent different driving scenarios. For each fa...

A Genetic-Fuzzy Control Strategy for Parallel Hybrid Electric Vehicle

Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) are driven by two energy convertors, i.e., an Internal Combustion (IC) engine and an electric machine. To make powertrain of HEV as efficient as possible, proper management of the energy elements is essential. This task is completed by HEV controller, which splits power between the IC engine and Electric Motor (EM). In this paper, a Genetic-Fuzzy control strategy...

Assessing Pedestrian Crossing Risk at Signalised Intersection

Pedestrian are most at risk when crossing a road section with a large amount of pedestrian-vehicle interaction. Thus, an understanding of the complex interaction between pedestrian behaviour, signal setting and environment is essential to assess the contribution of these factors to pedestrian accidents. The complexity of these interactions could possibly been described and explored using a powe...
